Time to get out and find some eggs! The Easter Holiday is in full swing and if you remember correctly, that means egg hunts. Make sure you stay outside after your hunt and do some spring shopping downtown or go out to lunch with friends and family. Enjoy your Saturday no matter what you do- here is your Daily Dose brought to you by the Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce. 1. Kiwanis Circle K Easter Egg Hunt. t he Kiwanis Circle K would like to invite the public to the free annual Easter egg hunt in Kiwanis Park today, Saturday March 30, 2013. The egg hunt will be from 9 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for all ages.  Come join us for prizes, candy, & much more! Contact Andrea Novotny, 307-399-7620 with any questions. this event is FREE to all. 2. Lunch at Roxie’s on Grand. Stop in and see Roxie and her staff for a great lunch at a reasonable price. You can find whatever you are craving on their menu and they are always willing to offer suggestions. Bring some friends and as always, enjoy your meal! 3. Didn’t get to dye those eggs we were talking about on Wednesday? We it is never too late and here is the last suggestion we have for quick egg dyeing! Glitter Sticker covered eggs. Take a look at how easy this is below. Then, head to Walmart and pick up what you need! Tools and Materials Double-sided “Flora” sticker roll Tweezers Blown-out eggs  Colored glitter Canned air Standard 1/4-inch hole punch Glittered Eggs How-To 1. Remove double-sided stickers from roll and place on the egg, keeping the paper on the top part of the sticker intact (tweezers help with this). 2. Once you have covered the egg with stickers, remove the paper covering the other sticky side of each sticker. 3. Roll the egg in glitter, making sure to get glitter on each sticker. 4. Blow on the egg with canned air to remove excess glitter. Tips 1. Use a sticker to cover the hole(s) left in the egg by the egg blower. 2. We are counting down the last few days in March. Can you believe that we have already spent 3 months in the 2013 year? If you are like me, you are thinking,  “that is crazy and where has time gone!” Now that we have the first quarter of the year out of the way, start focusing on not missing the next 3. Get active and enjoy every day. Here is your Daily Dose brought to you by the Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce. 1. Schubert’s Glorious Cello Quintet and Dover Beach.  7:30 PM – 8:30 PM Enjoy an evening of classics featuring the Summit Chamber Players with special guest. Amy Frost Baumgarten, principal cellist of the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra. The show will be held on the UW Fine Arts Stage. 2. Easter Brunch Reservations. Do you know what you are doing for Easter Brunch? If you haven’t made plans, call the Laramie Country Club for a reservation to their Easter Brunch, Sunday, March 31st from 9 Am-1 PM. Reservations are required so call today and stop worrying about having no plans set for Sunday! 3. Lunch on the Lawn. Is your week flying by? Are you just itching for Easter to be here? We there are plenty of ways to  enjoy Easter before you actually get to Sunday. Tonight, try a few of these different pre-Easter options and let us know what you think. Here is your Daily Dose brought to you by the Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce. 1. Free BioMusica Concert: Voice and Strings. This afternoon from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM a free concert, featuring Voice and Strings will be held at the Berry Center Lobby- Lewis Street, between 9th and 10th Streets, west of Geology Building. Open to the public, families welcome.  2. Biojewelry for Breast Cancer Exhibit Reception. Tonight from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM the Biojewelry for Breast Cancer Exhibit Receptions will be held in Gallery 234, lower level Wyoming Union. For more information click, here.  3. Pre-Easter Celebration. Tonight boil up some eggs and get to dying them all of your favorite Easter colors. You can use tradition dye with vinegar, shaving cream, or even hand paint them with fancy mosaic designs. Whatever you decide to do,  be creative and share your creations with us. We would love to see what you have done for Easter. You can buy everything you need from eggs to dyeing necessities at Walmart. Stop in after work and pick up what you need for a night of fun. 4. Roller Derby to Laramie. From 7:30 PM – 10:30 PM, the Student Activities Council, along with the Naughty Pines Derby Dames, is hosting a roller derby event. Doors open at the Laramie Plains Civic Center– 710 E. This program will meet regularly throughout the year and will include a combination of health information, wellness activities and other fun and learning events geared for women of all ages. This evenings event will be held a  the Laramie Country Club Fireplace Room. 2. Albany County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue. 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM March monthly meeting topics: Election, Radio Communications, Call-out Procedure. Interested in becoming a member? Try out a new recipe and be amazed at how fun it is to have that, many hands in the kitchen. We suggest the “Fried ” Mushroom Parmesan Bake courtesy of MORE Magazine and the popular TV Series, The Biggest Loser. Take a look below at how easy this delicious meal is to make and then stop into Safeway and pick up all that you need. “Fried ” Mushroom Parmesan Bake Ingredients:  2 (8-ounce) packages buttonmushrooms, cleaned and stems removed* 1⁄2 cup all-natural marinara sauce (preferably low-fat, low-salt, no sugar added; I used Monte Bene Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce) 1⁄2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 ounce (about 1⁄4 cup) finely shredded almond mozzarella cheese (I used Lisanatti)** 2 tablespoons all-natural whole wheat panko-style bread crumbs 2 teaspoons all-natural grated Parmesan cheese Instructions: Preheat the oven to 425°F. Add the mushroom caps to an 8″ 3 8″ glass or ceramic baking dish. Spoon the sauce evenly over the mushrooms. Sprinkle them evenly with the oregano followed by the garlic powder.
