Irish name, Laramie feel.

Irish name, Laramie feel.

O’Dwyers Public House has brought an interesting Irish twist to bar fare in Laramie since opening recently on 1622 Grand Ave. O’Dwyers’ ownership has a long Irish history and are looking to share that with the Laramie community, their motto is “There are no strangers here, only friend who have never met. Slainte!” But don’t worry if corned beef and cabbage doesn’t make your mouth water, they also have plenty of traditional grill items to satisfy your hunger. Including a selection of appetizers, burgers and pizza. Those who are feeling a bit more adventurous can try Pastys, no one else in town has them. Pastys are a traditional Welsh dish made with meat, vegetables and a pastry dough, they are basically a “Celtic Calzone.” O’Dwyers’ has several events and specials on different nights of the week. Tuesday is Bar Bingo night, starting at 7 p.m., there is a charge for a card and the winner at the end of the night takes home the pot. Wednesday is Trivia night, bring in a team and see how you match up! If you ever are feeling need for corned beef and cabbage before St. Patty’s Day, look no further than O’Dwyers every Thursday, they serve the Irish favorite all day long. And every Saturday starting at 9 p.m. you can wear your cowboy gear in and get a $1 discount on a Liter of Long Island Ice Tea. Something new that O’Dwyers is cooking up is weekend breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s a great way to start any weekend, but especially on a University of Wyoming game day! They are also serving Bloody Mary’s and bottomless Mimosas from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday to accompany your excellent breakfast. This upcoming weekend as everyone knows is Superbowl Sunday! O’Dwyers will be offering half-priced pints from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will be doing a mixed appetizer platter for the big game. Come in and cheer for your favorite team and do an Irish toast while your...

Spring thoughts may be bit premature in January, but with all the recent sun and snow melting happening in Laramie, it may not seem too early to begin preparing for greener times and spring projects.   An excellent and local option for ideas to kick start your spring project planning can be found at Centennial Woods LLC. They carry unique wood materials for both interior and exterior design work, and are conveniently located at 667 W. Flint St., Door 15, right here in Laramie. Fifteen years ago Centennial Woods was founded on green thinking principles with the intent to reclaim and repurpose weathered and windblown Wyoming Snowfences. Their idea has caught on, as they now are one of the largest providers of reclaimed wood in the world. According to their website the company, “has repurposed more than 7 million feet of reclaimed wood from Snowfence, saving Snowfence owners more than $11 million and avoiding emissions of more than 11,500 tons of CO2 emissions.” Centennial Woods has created truly beautiful designs all over the world, they would be an ideal choice for anyone who wanted to improve the od look or add repurposed wood to any part of the home. Their materials are also some of the safest around, as they are never treated or painted.According to their  website, “This means no harmful off-gassing or lead paint will make its way into your home.” Think green this spring and check out the distinctive materials Centennial Woods can offer.
