April LCBA Business of the Month: Express Employment Professionals

April LCBA Business of the Month: Express Employment Professionals

on Apr 24, 2014 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

The Laramie Chamber Business Alliance would like to extend a large congratulations to Express Employment Professionals for being selected as the April Business of the Month! Each month one member of the Alliance is picked to receive this honor. The honoree will receive a certificate of achievement, a gift and a feature in the e-buzz and blog, the Laramie Line. The Business of the Month is another way for LCBA to recognize its members and the contributions they make to the Laramie community. In 2007 Pat and Renee Ashworth took ownership of the Express Employment Professionals Office in Cheyenne with a simple idea: “to help people succeed.” In addition to assisting people in the Cheyenne community, they also had another goal. They wanted to open another location in Laramie. In July of 2013 they made that goal a reality. Currently they are located at 1771 Centennial Drive, Suite 120. “We like to think of ourselves as givers of hope. Helping people succeed is our mission. Whether it is a candidate that is looking for work, or whether it be a business that is looking to increase their staff and find a new employee. Our goal is to add some value to the Laramie community. We try to do this by helping businesses that are experiencing some growth, we try to reduce some of that work load off of their shoulders. We do this primarily by selecting and placing that right person for them. We also hope to help those who are new to Laramie, or who maybe have lived here all their life and are going through career changes. We like to be able to help them and coach them on to their next successful career path,” said Renee. In addition to placing perspective employees and helping businesses find the right fit for their company, they also offer human resources support. “We can help small businesses who maybe don’t have an HR person. We can help them out with newsletters and such, things that can help keep them up to date on hiring trends and new laws. For larger businesses we are just an extension of their HR department, so that they can, as we say, work closest to the dollar and focus on their business while we handle their staffing needs. We...

Snowy Range Evangelical Free Church

Snowy Range Evangelical Free Church

on Apr 17, 2014 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

With Easter just around the corner, it’s a good time to decide on a place of worship for this Sunday, April 20th.  If you have yet to find a church you love in Laramie, stop by Snowy Range Evangelical Free Church, located at 2552 N. 15th Street, for a great, modern service. E-free is a place for friendship, love, and hearing and spreading God’s word.  Their purpose is to “make disciples who make a difference for Jesus in Laramie, WY and all around the world.”  Senior Pastor Mark Vaporis, who leads the sermon weekly, is a great speaker and lover of Jesus.  There is rarely a sermon that does not speak to everyone in the audience on a personal level.  He grew up near Chicago Illinois, and is now striving to live his life as an enthusiastic follower of Christ alongside his wife and four children. Pastor Mark graduated from Trinity International University, and received his Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.  He is a great leader in the local church, and “clearly communicates God’s truth so people may know Him in a saving and transforming way” If the music is what brings you to a church, Dave Rickard, the music director at Snowy Range E-Free, definitely gives you a reason to keep coming back each week.  Their music is contemporary and fun, and is usually something popular that is easy to sing along with.  Dave and his wife, Lisa, have been using their musical training to serve E-free since 1998.  Dave provides joy and spunk to every service. If you’re looking for a fun, modern service, E-free is a great place for both students and families.  It is a very welcoming church, with many ways to meet other members and get involved outside of the church service itself.  They host events such as Mothers of Preschoolers, Men Eating And Talking, and many more. If you would like any other information, please call their office at (307) 745-8024 or visit their website, http://snowyrangeefree.org/.  If you are interested in attending E-Free for Easter, their Easter service will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn at 10 a.m., with a brunch following. Due to limited space, tickets are available for...

Summer is on its way (hopefully!), and one place that is getting an early start on preparations is NU2U Laramie. This Laramie Chamber Business Alliance member has been replacing the long pants and shirts with short ones on the vast racks of clothing that make up most of the eclectic shop.  Employee Esther told us that they are excited about the change from winter to summer, especially when it comes to there gear program. “We have our gear consignment program, which is new and exciting. In the winter it was mostly snowboards and skis and now we will be switching over to summer things like backpacking equipment,” said Esther NU2U also has a vast section of other items including shoes, accessories, records, wall decorations, and even mounted animal heads all for great prices. They do still have many winter items for those looking to catch the last of the snow. If you are looking to clean out your closet and perhaps gain a little money for your previous investments, NU2U also has a consignment program. They accept consignment Saturday, Monday and Tuesday during business hours, you can consign up to 25 items per week. You can also donate clothes, they accept them any day of the week other than Sunday. This time of year, Wyomingites are used to seeing construction around their town. If you have driven past the University of Wyoming Union area lately, you have likely noticed a pretty big project going on. Groathouse Construction has been working around the clock since the summer of 2013 to provide a new and improved Half Acre Gym. This is a 22-month project, improving many aspects of the gym at the University of Wyoming. Groathouse Construction began as a small, family owned company in Laramie, Wyoming in 1954. They have now grown to be the largest Wyoming owned construction firm in the region. They are uniquely qualified to assist clients with a variety of tasks; from assistance with the early stages of planning a building to renovating an older project, from assisting clients with construction management services to helping design a building with a limited bude.   Groathouse provides services including site selection, pre-construction services, construction services, construction management, and more.  If you are in need of a construction company, Groathouse has it all and they are definitely the people to call.  They have experience with many different types of buildings, whether it is a business building remodel or a gym, plus many more.
