Love’s in Laramie
It may be obvious that a new building and gas station is currently under construction at the corner of West Curtis Street and North McCue Street near Interstate 80. What might not be obvious is the company’s interest in getting involved in the community through charity.
Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores has confirmed the project will be done in early 2018.
“With the construction process being what it is, it’s hard to pinpoint a date,” said Kealey Dorian, Supervisor of Media for Love’s in an email.
Love’s chose its Laramie location for it's proximity to Interstate 80 and to provide coverage in an area lacking in its services. Dorian also added that Laramie is overall a good choice.
“The Laramie store will provide people with a place to park and access food and other services needed while traveling,” said Dorian. “Laramie is also a solid community that will sustain us with regular business and great employees.”
The company has more than 430 locations in 41 different states, according to Loves.com. And according to Dorian, at the opening of each store $2,000 dollars is donated to a local school or non-profit. Love’s involvement in the community does not stop there either.
“Stores also have a budget to support local causes throughout the year,” said Dorian. “Currently, we’re in the middle of our annual campaign to raise funds for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”
Love’s has been campaigning over a month each year for children’s hospitals since 1999, donating proceeds to hospitals in vicinity of its locations.
“All money raised locally goes to help sick and injured children in that area,” said Dorian.
Dorian also confirmed Laramie Chamber Business Alliance membership paperwork is being processed and a ribbon cutting is on the agenda for the grand opening process.
