2017 Small Business of the Year Award Presented to Coffey Engineering & Surveying
Our last feature of the 2017 Business Award winners highlights a company with a long history in Laramie. 2017 Small Business of the Year was presented to Coffey Engineering & Surveying at the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance Annual Banquet and Membership Meeting.
To qualify for this award companies must meet a host of attributes. While they must be in business in Albany County for more than one year and be financially stable and operation, they must also contribute and promote economic growth in the county and city. Contributions to stability and improvement should also be noticeable along with senior management involving themselves in leadership roles in civic activities. A company worthy of business of the year gives generously in time and resources and demonstrate best practices of entrepreneurship.
Coffey Engineering & Surveying is a company with less than 25 employees and does all that right here in Laramie. The company has staff that are involved in service groups and community projects often serving in leadership roles. Ivinson Memorial Hospital, Leadership Wyoming and Laramie Regional Airport Board are only a few of the groups staff is involved with, along with the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance. Beyond involvement, the company has established the Joel Coffey Memorial Scholarship for undergraduate students enrolled in the Civil Engineering program at the University of Wyoming. All the while, the company has expanded into Colorado and has been locally owned for three generations.
This honor was accepted by Coffey Engineering & Surveying CEO Dave Coffey at the banquet last month.
“I was very honored to learn Coffey was selected as the small business of the year,” said Coffey.
This is an honor that Coffey acknowledges his staff for helping earn.
“I am humbled that a group of peers selected our firm,” said Coffey. “I consider this as a recognition for our staff who are the driving factor for our successes and I am very proud of them.”
