Today continues the Laramie Storm Volleyball Tournament. Laramie Storm Volleyball is holding a weekend of tournaments as a fundraiser for AAU Nationals and also to raise money for the Local Youth Crisis Center. There is a Women’s division on today, May 19. The cost per payer is $20 and partial proceeds will be donated to the Laramie Youth Crisis Center. Prizes will be awarded to first place teams in each division. Pool play starts at 9:00 a.m. and will be followed by a single elimination bracket. If you love volleyball come out and cheer on these athletes! After a little volleyball take to the park where you can throw a Frisbee or watch your kids as they play on the jungle gym. You can work off an entire afternoon without even realizing it. Enjoy your time outside and enjoy who you spend that time with. After a long day in the park stop into Sonic and get a slushy or ice cream cone. They have a treat for everyone! Today is the day that the 8th Annual Walk for Women. Make sure you head to the Double A Arena to enjoy the walk, good food and a great game all in the support of a wonderful cause! Manic Monday can cause a whirl wind of chaos. Instead of allowing it to take over your day, make it work for you. The Laramie Area Chamber of Commerce hopes this Daily Dose finds you well this Monday Morning! 1. Taste-of-Town at Boomers. Serving from 4 to 9 p.m. at Boomer’s BBQ at 615 S 2nd Street (across from Napa Auto Parts near Sheridan & 2nd). Boomer’s owners, Mike and Michelle will be sampling their famous Cowboy Caviar, “Once you try it, you’ll be addicted”! Samples will be provided complementary to each table of dinners. As a new component of Taste of the Town, the Laramie Main Street Alliance will be raffling off a $25 downtown gift certificate, good at any business downtown. Each dinner guest served between 4 and 9 on the 23rd will receive a free raffle ticket. A winner will be drawn at the end of the event (need not be present to win). Boomer’s BBQ is one of the newest restaurants in historic downtown and serves up a mouth-watering variety of smoked meats (pork, chicken, turkey) and fall of the bone ribs. Taste of the Town is a fundraiser for the Laramie Main Street Alliance that strives to preserve historic downtown while enhancing its economic and social vitality. 10% of profits from Taste will be donated to the Alliance. 2. The Wyoming Cowboy Basketball Team crushed the CSU Rams Saturday afternoon in the Border War Game, Cowboy Wrestling took on the Wolverines, and Cowgirl Tennis was postponed.
