This month the Spine & Injury Clinic of Laramie, PC was awarded the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance’s ‘Business of the Month’.

We sat down with the Milam Brothers, Dylan Milam, DC and David Milam, DC. The Spine and Injury Clinic is a multidisciplinary practice that offers chiropractic, physical therapy, and massage therapy. They have been serving the Laramie area for over 12 years. The business started with Dylan and his wife Kelly, who serves as the Practice Manager. Their growing team consists of two chiropractors, four physical therapists; with a total of 17 employees.

“We have evolved quite a bit since we first opened up in Laramie.  We always have had a vision of being able to be a clinic that can handle any type of musculoskeletal injury, but most importantly be a clinic where people receive the best care available, and where people are treated right,” said Dylan.

The Spine and Injury Clinic of Laramie has been in their new location on Grand for about 3 years. “The reason we built this place was to expand our physical therapy services,” stated Dylan, “I think that is one of the most unique things about our practice is we are multidisciplinary, and we truly work together as a team. It’s like a perfect relationship. We are really big on patient education and home exercises, but there are patients that may need physical therapy to get better.”

“There are a few places around the country that have something similar, but to have over 10,000 sq ft of gym space for physical therapy and rehab in addition to our clinic is rare. Because of this, we have more capabilities for dynamic rehab, sports injury rehab, and sports specific training or late phase rehab,” added David, “Exercise is something that is at the core of our treatment approach and so having space and equipment to do just about anything is important.”

“When you combine our facility with our provider team, it’s hard to compete with the care we can deliver. All of our providers have an undergrad education base in kinesiology or exercise science,” said David. “We love athletes and treating athletes, it’s what we enjoy and have a lot of training in,” added Dylan, “David and I helped with the Dew Tour for a couple of years. We are also in the UW Athletics training room twice a week.”

“We pride ourselves on individualized treatment based on the many variables including age and injury, and we have the resources to ensure that care is progressing.  If our patients are not progressing as desired, we can order necessary imaging or testing. Beyond that we have a network of specialists that we can get our patients in with for further workup,” said Dylan. “Personalized care with exceptional outcomes is the motto that our clinic operates around. This goes beyond not only the care we provide but making sure our patients are seeing the best surgeons and specialists when needed,” added David.

Giving back to the community is something the Spine & Injury Clinic is passionate about. It’s not uncommon to see their staff volunteering medical support at a mountain bike, running race, or athletic event. “We like to support and sponsor a lot of local events and Kelly is involved with a lot of boards within the community,” said Dylan.

“You’ve got to give back to the community,” David added “we were born and raised here and most of our staff are pretty local. All of our providers are basically Wyoming natives.”

“We are really lucky that our staff is what makes this place run. It’s a total experience. It’s not just about what happens during treatment, it’s the scheduling, the front desk, our providers…and ultimately our goal is to just help people the best we can,” said David.
