The Cowboy Turf Wars Soccer Tournament which will be held January 3-5th, brings almost 200 teams to town. The teams will begin to arrive on the evening of January 2 and will be in Laramie until Sunday afternoon.
“This has a huge impact on the community, estimates are that this tourney will bring $800,000+ into Laramie over 3 days. We have had restaurants in town tell us it takes 3 UW football game weekends for them to bring in as much money as they bring in over our tournament weekend,” said Laura Tangeman who is on the board of directors for the tournament.
“We are hoping to get the word out so businesses are prepared with staffing and such. We always have businesses contact us after the fact to say they wished they had dates/info before the teams actually arrive in town,” Laura added.
