This month, locally owned and operated, C&A Pet & Livestock Supply, LLC was awarded the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance’s ‘Business of the Month’.
We met with co-owners Cody Humphrey and Alan Reed. C&A Pet and Livestock Supply opened its doors in May of 2004. Both Cody and Alan had worked for the previous company, A&C Feed Co. for 16 and 20 years respectively. When A&C closed its doors in April of 2004, the two saw a void for the existing customer base and reopened one month later. “We decided, we like what we do, and decided…carry on,” said Alan. Now 15 years later, C&A Pet and Livestock Supply stays busy servicing the local ag community. “We service whatever they need.”
Both owners are active in the Albany County community. “Cody is on the Pioneer Canal Irrigation District Board and I am on the Weed and Pest Board for Albany County,” Reed added.
“Before A&C, I worked for Pulte Homes in their panel manufacturing plant right here where Murdoch’s warehouse is now. I graduated from college with a degree in Animal Science and then went to work construction at Pulte. The assistant manager position opened up here, and I came here in 1984,” said Reed.
The store supplies everything their customers need, but the most popular items they carry, Reed said were pet and livestock food and supplies. “We are supported by our loyal customers,” added Cody.
Along with offering pet food, livestock feed, livestock handling equipment, and fencing materials, C&A is a location for Uhaul equipment and supplies. They have offered this service for over 11 years.
“We are pretty steady year-round. In the spring and summer, we sell a lot of 4-H and FFA feed,” stated Reed.
Every year in October, C&A Pet & Livestock Supply participates in the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance Ag Banquet by sponsoring a table at the event. Their support raises funds for the 4-H and FFA groups.
C&A Pet & Livestock Supply is a big supporter of the Albany County Jr. Livestock Sale which takes place in August. “They support us, and we support them,” Reed stated.
