Economic Development Projects

Safran

  • Investment: $100,000
  • 32 FTE and continuing to grow

Safran, an aeronautics company, specializing in inflight entertainment expanded operations into Laramie from their Brea, California location. In the initial discussion on the siting of Safran’s expansion into the Wyoming market a new building was discussed at length. In the end it was strategically decided to sight them in an 8300 square foot stranded asset, thus giving them the ability to grow at a predictable and manageable pace.

Uplink Robotics

  • Investment: business guidance and $30,000
  • Start-up company with 6 FTE’s

A graduate of the University of Wyoming’s business incubator Impact 307, Uplink Robotics had outgrown their space and were seeking to move the company to the next step. It was here that the LCBA worked with the company as to what the next level looks like and provided guidance on how to achieve the move sustainably. The LCBA also assisted in helping site the company in a new manufacturing space in the private sector.

Unlocked Labs

  • Investment: business guidance and $30,000
  • Start-up company with 5 FTE’s

A graduate of the University of Wyoming’s business incubator Impact 307, Unlocked Labs had outgrown their space and were seeking to move the company to the next step. It was here that the LCBA worked with the company as to what the next level looks like and provided guidance on how to Schieve the move sustainably. The LCBA also assisted in helping site the company in a new manufacturing space in the private sector.

WyoTech Expansion

  • Investment: $10 Million dollars
  • 65 FTE’s anticipated in this phase

Constrained for space in all areas of the schools offerings, WyoTech created a plan for a large facility expansion which will increase the number of instructors and students, all of which have a very positive impact on the Laramie community. Recognizing that an expansion of this magnitude would require multiple partners, Wyotech engaged the LCBA for assistance from the State of Wyoming. The LCBA eagerly responded and was able to secure a grant/loan combination from the Wyoming Business Council to assist with the project.

Made 4U Foods

  • Investment: $750,00.00 dollars
  • 25 FTE’s

A successful business recruitment by the LCBA brought the gluten free bakery, Made 4U Foods to Laramie Wyoming. A privately funded project, the LCBA pledged land to the company/project which in turn allowed the company to leverage the asset and bring the project to fruition. A leader in the gluten free space the company now enjoys a new manufacturing facility in which they have room to expand and proud to be from Wyoming.

Plenty

  • Investment: $1,200,000.00 dollars
  • 85 FTE’s in this 2nd phase

Phase two of an earlier project involved securing the companies location in Laramie as their permanent home for Research & Development for the cutting-edge company in the indoor growing space. Location to markets saw the company expand their farming footprint into Virgina. Yet recognizing the work ethics and available workforce in Wyoming, Plenty chose to remain in Laramie.

Bright Argotech

  • Investment: $2,895,000.00 dollars
  • 75 FTE’s in the first phase of development

Phase one for Bright Agrotech (now Plenty Unlimited, Inc.) was the design and development of a new facility in which the company flourished. As the company grew they were acquired by Plenty Unlimited and continue to call Laramie home.

HiViz II

  • Investment: $3,000,000.00 dollars
  • 65 FTE’s in phase 2 of development

Tungsten Parts Wyoming

  • Investment: $3,000,000.00 dollars
  • 65 FTE’s

Seeking to repatriate jobs back to the United States, TPW knew that they had found their new home in Wyoming shortly after their initial visit. The LCBA was instrumental in securing the funding and building a new custom facility for the company. The company continues to grow and has since expanded beyond the original; facility.

Underwriters Laboratories

  • Investment: $3,800,000.00 dollars
  • 50 FTE’s

A test project for the U.L. brand was to expand the companies’ offerings into software development and level three tech support on an international scale. The now mature project continues to call Laramie home and has expanded the offerings beyond the original vision for the project.

HiViz I

  • Investment: $3,000,000.00 dollars
  • 50 FTE’s

Another successful business recruitment, HiViz, a leader in aftermarket OEM gun sights continues to call Laramie home. The company designs, manufactures and sells their product line in 40,000 square feet of manufacturing/office space. The LCBA was the lead supporter in recruiting the company and building them the space that they needed to continue to grow.

Cirrus Sky Technology Park

  • Investment: $5,400,000.00 dollars

From greenfield to infrastructure in the ground, the vision for Cirrus Sky Technology Park has not waived. As such, the park continues to be garner interest from a multitude of companies seeking to relocate. The LCBA is currently in discussions to build the third and fourth building in the park.

Laramie Rivers Business Park I

Recognizing the need for more commercial development, the organization (LCBA/LEDC) acquired a greenfield site for development and created Laramie Rivers Business Park I, which is now home to 284 FTE’s. To date the business park is fully built out, however job numbers continue to grow. The two most recent additions to the Business Park are Unlocked Labs and Uplink Robotics, both moving their respective companies there in 2025.

Laramie Rivers Business Park I

Working directly with WyoTech and understanding the need for the school to consolidate their campus to one location, the LCBA/LEDC forged ahead and created the Laramie Rivers Business Park II for WyoTech to accomplish the consolidation goal and to realize their growth projections. To date the business park is home to 551 FTE’s and houses notable organizations like WyoTech, Wyoming Game & Fish and HiViz Shooting Systems.
